While I've always enjoyed taking pictures as a hobby, it wasn't until I discovered digital photography several years ago, that photography became a passion. You can often find me traipsing around the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York where I live, in pursuit of the perfect picture in the perfect light. I always bring this obsession with me on while traveling with my family to areas of the US, Mexico and Europe. The waterscapes and landscapes of the Naples area serve as a backdrop to the high school senior portraits and child and baby pictures that I love to take. Since I believe that nothing captures personality like the human face, I enjoy shooting casual portraits emphasizing an individual's unique facial expressions and body language. Photographing children and babies is a special joy of mine. While I always bring plenty of props and ideas to a shoot with children, I usually find myself just stalking them with my camera, watching them explore their surroundings and just being kids while I snap away. Without exception, the session ends with some priceless glimpses into their personality. Something that is not possible with formal shots alone. To complement my photography, I use Photoshop CS to edit. I enjoy experimenting with black & white, sepia, hand painted effects, and the creative digital techniques often found in my fine art prints. While my husband and two school-age children have been wonderful supporters of my foray into photography, they have been my most difficult clients, displaying the most un-cooperative aspects of their personality during photo sessions with me. This fact makes it that much easier to photograph other peoples's families! |
